Bathing
The nearby Blue Flag beach at Portnoo offers wonderful facilities for swimmers and bathers.
Music, Ceol and Craic
Ardara is famous for its traditional music. Many friendly pubs have music sessions nightly of ballads, fiddling, and lore and gossip. Come join the locals for a bit of Donegal hospitality.
Cycling
There are lots of quiet routes for cycling along the highways and byways. Bicycles and equipment can be hired by the hour or the day in Ardara.
Horse Riding
There are two Riding Centres near to Ardara with ponies available on a daily or hourly basis for treks on the strand or across the hills and up the glens. Guides are optional.
Hiking and Hillwalking
Slieve League, the highest seacliffs in all of Europe, are here for the adventurous to climb. Or the Blue Stack Mountains offer another venue for a ramble. Or maybe just a picnic at Bunglas in the shadow of Slieve League.
Fishing
In the coastal rivers of Donegal the Atlantic salmon run the rivers from early Spring to Fall on their annual spawning migration.
Golf
Some of the most spectacular and challenging links courses in all Ireland are located a short drive away from Gort na Móna B&B accommodation.
Donegal Castle
Built by the O'Donnell chieftain in the 15th century, beside the River Eske, the Castle has extensive 17th century additions by Sir Basil Brooke. The Castle is furnished throughout and includes Persian rugs and French tapestries.
